
Refrigerator car (commonly abbreviated as Refrigerated truck) is a special commercial motor vehicle fitted with an independent mechanical refrigeration unit, insulated cargo compartment and temperature control system, engineered to maintain a preset constant low-temperature environment inside the enclosed cargo body throughout transportation, regardless of ambient external temperature fluctuations.
Refrigeration Unit Function The mounted refrigeration compressor system powered by either the vehicle’s main engine or a standalone auxiliary diesel engine circulates refrigerant to absorb internal heat, enabling adjustable temperature ranging from deep-freeze level (-25℃ ~ -20℃) for frozen food, medium cold storage (0℃ ~ 5℃) for fresh fruits, vegetables, dairy and chilled meat, to controlled ambient temperature (10℃~25℃) for pharmaceutical, biological reagent and special chemical cargo.
Application & Classification Definition Classified by load capacity into light-duty, medium-duty and heavy-duty refrigerated trucks; widely applied in cold-chain logistics for frozen seafood, fresh produce, vaccine transportation, frozen meat and quick-frozen food distribution across land haulage.
